Change 21 | Internal Overview of Activities and Strategic Framework
Following up on:

Project Change 21. And activity architecture for the next period

Strategic overview of complex social inclusion interventions implemented by The Salvation Army in Slovakia. Basis for the EEA Norway Grants mechanism.

Theory of Change

The logical framework of the project visualizes the gradual transformation of the client from solving an acute crisis to long-term social and labor integration thanks to the synergy of 5 pillars.

1. Emergency Relief

Solving acute crises. Provision of basic needs: emergency shelter, food, and hygiene.

2. Stabilization

Psychological support, health, and transition to more stable temporary housing.

3. Capacity Building

Increasing digital and financial literacy, reskilling, and restoration of work habits.

4. Inclusion

Integration into the open labor market, operation of social enterprises, and intergenerational connection.

Methodological Framework: 5 Pillars

Each activity from the Theory of Change is mapped to at least one of these strategic pillars.

Education

Increasing financial literacy, digital education, and skills development.

Employment

Support for labor market integration, reskilling, and social entrepreneurship.

Health & Hygiene

Food assistance, psychological counseling, and therapies.

Non-discrimination

Community events, socializing trips, and intergenerational activities.

Housing

Infrastructure reconstruction and neighborhood revitalization.

Geographical Allocation of Activities

Overview of specific interventions implemented in individual project hubs.

Hlohovec Main partner

Comprehensive inclusion of the men's shelter (all 5 pillars).

  • Infrastructure: Complete reconstruction of the attic and energy modernization of the building.
  • Social entrepreneurship: Operating sightseeing electric rickshaws and producing community products.
  • Therapies: Introduction of art therapy, music therapy, bibliotherapy, and occupational therapy.
  • Integration: Cleaning of public spaces in the town of Hlohovec.

Trebišov

Specific support through the Pastoral Center (MRC focus).

  • Education: Literacy for adults and tutoring for school-age children.
  • Practical skills: Tailoring clubs for youth (sewing machines) and reskilling.
  • Hygiene: Operation of a hygiene center (showers for children), food bank equipment.
  • Socialization: Out-of-community trips (Košice ZOO) and self-service photo kiosk (CEWE).

Plavecký Štvrtok & Pezinok

Fieldwork and Glejovka Community Center.

  • Plavecký Štvrtok: Performance of Field Social Work (FSW) and personnel support in the kindergarten.
  • Pezinok: Community Center activities focused on youth development.

Galanta & Bratislava

Crisis assistance and systemic advocacy.

  • Galanta: Operation of a night shelter, stabilization of housing loss, and IT literacy for adults.
  • Bratislava: Headquarters for professional staff training and anti-prejudice campaigns.
