The Glejovka Community Center (KC) in Pezinok was recently filled with pure, unadulterated joy and children's laughter. Our social workers, Evka and Ivka—as the children affectionately call them—put together a wonderful Children’s Day full of surprises for the little ones. This was a momentous occasion for the children in Glejovka, who had been eagerly looking forward to it. After a long period of strict restrictions and isolation caused by a hepatitis outbreak, they were finally able to gather and enjoy group activities once again.
Sports, Dance, and Children's Creativity
The first day of the celebration was dedicated to fostering children's creativity and healthy physical activity. The pathways and dynamic areas around the center bloomed with vibrant chalk drawings, while inside, the children enthusiastically colored in prepared pictures. Their incredible energy was fully channeled into ball games and sports competitions. However, the absolute highlight of the day was the group Zumba session, which got everyone dancing and filled the air with great energy.
When the Whole Family Helps Out: Painting the Fence Together
On the second day, the celebrations continued with a beautiful community initiative that left a lasting, visible impact. Not only the children but also their parents rolled up their sleeves with great enthusiasm to paint the center's fence. Together, they transformed a dull space into a colorful piece of art that will brighten up Glejovka every single day. It was a wonderful, pleasant shared experience for the families, further strengthening neighborly bonds.
As a reward for their hard work, great attitude, and sports achievements, a well-deserved treat awaited the children. During the warm days, refreshing treats like juicy watermelons and popsicles—which the children absolutely love—were the perfect choice. There were also juices, biscuits, lollipops, and cheerful balloons, which are an essential part of any proper celebration.
