The Salvation Army has been actively operating in Slovakia since 2014, with the aim of providing charitable and spiritual assistance. We started in Bratislava, working with homeless people and providing them with not only material but also spiritual support.
In Plavecký Štvrtok and Pezinok, The Salvation Army opened kindergartens and community centers focused on working with Roma children and youth. In Galanta, we have a center for people in need, where we provide food assistance and social counseling.
"Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination."
The Salvation Army is an international movement and an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. In Slovakia, we are part of the Territory of the Netherlands, Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
The work of The Salvation Army in Slovakia is overseen by a Regional Officer who holds general power of attorney. Since 2024, this position has been held by Major Petr Kováčik.
We are here for those who need help. For those who find themselves on the margins of society, are forgotten, lonely, or searching.
