Worldwide, The Salvation Army is a recognized Christian church. In Slovakia, however, we legally operate as a **Civic Association** (Občianske združenie), because due to current legislation (required number of members) we are not registered as a church.

Despite this legal form, our identity and service are the same as everywhere in the world – our work is based on Christian faith and love for one's neighbor.
