There are approximately 25,000 preschool children living in Slovakia who have no chance for a future. These are children who live in various Roma settlements, urban ghettos, families at risk of social exclusion, etc. Our vision is to help at least some of them get to the same starting line as other children in mainstream society, giving them the chance to complete their primary education and move on to secondary school.

We are convinced that this cannot be achieved without education and training from an early age. That is why we have focused primarily on serving preschool-age children. (This does not mean, however, that we do not also serve schoolchildren.) We want to do this by establishing children’s clubs for these children, where staff will work with them every day, and kindergartens directly in local communities.

When serving these children, we cannot overlook their home environment. That is why we want to develop quality social work in families at kindergartens and children’s clubs.
